Angelica Marciano was born on August 16, 1992, in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Born to a family of commercial fishermen, Angelica was always destined to follow her family into commercial fishing. She is the daughter of Captain David Marciano and Nancy. She has two siblings Joe and Eve Marciano.
When Angelica was young, her family found it very difficult to live on fishing. As a result, Angelica would turn to rod and reel for fun. She also focused on her studies and graduated from Gloucester High School. Angelica pursued her further education at Newbury College in Brookline, Massachusetts, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a minor in Psychology in 2014.
Professional Career
While still in college she also gained valuable experience in various fields of marketing, public relations, and social media through internships and jobs. She worked as a marketing advisor and assistant for Let’s Get Creative, a social media campaign manager for John Guilfol Public Relations LLC, and a customer support representative for Ralph Lauren. Angelica also explored her creative side by working in film production. She was an assistant stage manager for the movie Little Women (2019). Angelica’s most notable role, however, is as a deckhand on the National Geographic series Wicked Tuna. The show follows the lives and challenges of commercial fishermen who compete to catch the elusive bluefin tuna in the Atlantic Ocean. She joined the cast of the show during season 7, in 2018 and started working as a deckhand on the fishing vesselHard Merchandise.She took up the spot emptied by her cousin, Jay. In a few years’ time, Angelica worked her way to the family’s second vesselFalcon which Dave captained and her brother Joe served as the first mate. She appeared on the show until 2021. She also made appearances on the spin-off Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks also known as Wicked Tuna: North vs South. Angelica thinks that working with her family while also getting paid is the best job there can be. Angelica operates by her tried and tested motto, “You don’t have to be the strongest or fittest, you just have to try”. “I’ve spent days at a time working in extreme conditions and weather. All hours on-call on a 43ft boat hundreds of miles off shore. I’ve successfully caught, handled, and processed bluefin tuna with only two other crewmen, fish all weighing between 400 to 1,000 pounds.”
