Work Hard / Play Hard:A UK study found 4 day work-weeks may be just as productive as 5 day work-weeks. What I found interesting in this article is that the companies who took part in the trial "...agreed to complete 100% of the usual workload in 80% of the time worked, shortening the workweek to 32 hours -- with no reduction in pay."This seems to deviate from the traditional 4 day work-week where people work 10 hours days --- doing more work in shorter amount of time. In one stream of thought, it seems work in this case is getting done quicker. I'm curious what kind of work schedule setup do you believe would be most beneficial to employers and employees alike? On this day, like each day, we remember and we say thank you. They each voluntarily signed up. They answered the call of duty. As we say thank you, we must remember our responsibility. Never forget. Never forget who they are, what they've done, or why it's important for each of us: https://lnkd.in/ek9TXQsE

To appreciate where you are, you have to appreciate where you’ve come from. With high school seniors walking the stage, I’m reminded it’s been 20+ years since my own high school graduation (HOW?!)Can you tell I’ve always been into news? Started it with radio and newspaper in high school.

Orlando International Airport is expecting to see a record 60+ million passengers by year's end. Already one of the nation’s busiest airports, record travel demand is pushing MCO to undertake major upgrade and renovation projects. Here's a look at a series of stories I worked on this week to kick off the record summer travel season. (I) Orlando International Preps For Terminal Upgrades: https://lnkd.in/ekPnZfvM(II) Whether by plane, train, or automobile, you can expect big crowds as you travel this summer. Airlines are expected to offer more than 26,000 daily flights in June, July, and August: https://lnkd.in/eCgAxw_m(III) Beyond weather and maintenance, airlines say air traffic control staffing shortages are one reason flights are canceled or delayed. U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg pushed back on that, telling me it's not the significant reason for flight impacts - but the FAA is taking action: https://lnkd.in/etS9fgBZ

Where are you off to this summer? Here's a quick look at what I've been up to lately, off the anchor desk. Airlines are preparing for a record summer travel season with an estimated 27,000 daily flights in the U.S. planned. U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg told me the FAA will be looking out for passengers as airlines hope this summer will be a 'Breeze'.

Listen with your eyes.I love this post below from Tim Boyum. It’s helpful to remember, not only when you may have writer’s block, but also when you need to find engaging questions during an interview. So often in News a story we think we’re covering takes a turn. Someone says something unexpected, reveals something we didn’t know. Those are reveals that come to us when we give a wider glance, when we listen a bit more intently. Everyday journalists are sent out on assignment, interviewing people they’ve just met, all in an effort to tell stories that matter. To tell stories people will care about. To create care in a story we need to find a connection between elements of our story and viewers/readers. Often times we may stumble into those little ‘character driven’ nuggets when we listen with our eyes. What I mean by this is pay attention to your surroundings. There is so much we can learn about a person simply by looking around. Often we interview someone in their space, their home, office, etc. If you want to become really good at asking questions – finding the character --- finding the reason why people will care --- finding how to connect someone ---- look around. This is my home office. Unless you truly know me, you may only know that I’m on the news and likely love current affairs and politics. But, if you were a young journalist having to interview me in my home office, what would you listen from listening with your eyes, without even asking me any questions? What would you learn about me just by looking around?
