Ingredients in a Raspberry Martini co*cktail

  • Citrus Vodka – I prefer Stoli Citrus, but there are a number of quality versions on the market. Effen Citrus, Absolut, and Smirnoff make great alternatives.
  • Chambord – This is a quality raspberry liqueur, but it can be pricey. Use Dekuper Razzmatazz for a more affordable option.
  • Cranberry Juice – For best flavor use 100% cranberry juice instead of cranberry juice co*cktail.
  • Simple Syrup – Gives a touch of sweetness to the drink. To make simply combine equal parts water and sugar and heat until sugar is dissolved.
  • Prosecco – I love adding a prosecco floater to martinis, such as in the Blackberry Martini, because it gives a bright, sparkly finish. It may be omitted or use lemon lime soda in its place.
  • Fresh Raspberries – Some are shaken with the co*cktail to give an extra boost of raspberry flavor. Serve with a raspberry garnish as well.

Can I Use Different Flavored Vodka?

This martini recipes uses citrus vodka since lemon and raspberry is such a sublime combination! However, alternative vodka flavors may be substituted.

Use plain vodka, such as Tito’s, chocolate vodka, or raspberry vodka in place of the citrus.

    What flavors compliment raspberry? ›

Raspberry: Pairs well with other berries, almond, apricot, chocolate, cinnamon, citrus, ginger, hazelnut, mint, nectarine, peach, plum, rhubarb, thyme, and vanilla. You will find many raspberry co*cktails with brandy, Champagne, orange liqueurs, rum (especially the dark type), tequila, and sweeter red wines.

What does it mean to order a martini extra dirty? ›

The term 'dirty' means that olive brine, usually from a jar of co*cktail olives, has been added to the drink. An olive garnish is typically assumed, too. Most bars add equal parts vermouth and brine, though you can specify 'extra dirty' or 'filthy' if you prefer more brine.

Can you overshake a martini? ›

    Tips for Shaken co*cktails

Don't over-shake, or you'll over dilute. With small ice cubes or “slushy” ones (a bit watery, not super frozen), cut your shake time down accordingly.

Why is my martini shaken and not stirred? ›

Shaking is also said to dissolve the vermouth better, making it less oily tasting. Properly called a Bradford, a shaken martini also appears cloudier than when stirred. This is caused by the small fragments of ice present in a shaken martini. This also brings into question the movie versions, which are never cloudy.

How do you make a martini that doesn't taste like alcohol? ›

5 minutes. The ULTIMATE Dirty Martini – shaken, not stirred – and made with just 2 ingredients! This version combines vodka and olive juice and skips the vermouth for a clean, straightforward flavor you're sure to love!

Why don't my dirty martinis taste good? ›

It's almost easier to make a bad dirty martini than it is to make a great one. Adding that touch of olive brine can make the co*cktail too salty or impart the stale, musty taste of olives bottled during the last century. Your dirty martini can also suffer from being the wrong temperature, too boozy, or out of balance.

How do you make a martini less bitter? ›

Another customization option is ordering a “sweet” martini. This will get you sweet vermouth instead of dry vermouth. As the name implies, sweet vermouth is quite a bit sweeter than “dry” vermouth, and has a less bitter taste and aroma.

How do you make a drink more flavorful? ›

Infuse water with fresh berries, pineapple or melon. Or freeze bits of fruit in ice cube trays for a more subtle flavor and an interesting look. Slice cucumbers and add to water for a fresh, clean taste. Enhance water with fresh mint leaves, basil, ginger, rosemary or cilantro.
